Welcome to Laingsburg Association for Persons with Disabilities (APD)
Located in the heart of the Great Karoo, Laingsburg is a charming town with a rich history and natural beauty. Our organisation, Laingsburg APD, is dedicated to supporting and enhancing the capabilities of persons with disabilities to reach their full potential, and we’re proud to be a part of this vibrant community.
For many years, we’ve been committed to supporting individuals with disabilities in Laingsburg, helping them lead fulfilling and independent lives. Our comprehensive services cater to persons with disabilities up to the age of 60, and our passion is to make a positive impact on their lives.

Jar of Hope. A nourishing soup package, containing a blend of essential ingredients to prepare a meal for up to four people, lovingly distributed to persons with disabilities and their families, providing sustenance and hope in times of need. To donate towards this initiative, contact

Our Services
At Laingsburg APD, we offer a comprehensive range of services designed to support individuals with disabilities. These include developmental social work, education and training, job readiness and placement, and community-based initiatives, all aimed at promoting inclusivity, independence, and overall well-being. Our services include:
Developmental Social Work
Provision of social work services to persons with disabilities and their families, thereby assisting and supporting them to navigate challenging situations and ensuring safety and stability.
Advocating for the rights of persons with disabilities, promoting equal opportunities and access to resources.
Developing life skills, social skills, and job readiness for independent and fulfilling lives.
Increasing access to resources and promoting community integration and inclusion, ensuring persons with disabilities are active citizens.
Work and Employment
Supporting persons with disabilities to reach their full work potential and empowering them to achieve economic independence.
Preparing individuals for the open labour market and productive work within our protective units, promoting inclusivity and equal opportunities.

Karoo-Inspired Craft Group
A skills and job creation initiative (handwork and life skills) that fosters creativity and entrepreneurship. Peer Support Services

- Educating the public on aspects pertaining to disabilities through training and storytelling.

Support our mission: Your membership fee of just R20 per year (payable in April) will help us continue to provide essential services.
